OPTOGLOBE is the Global Optometry Student Community, a vibrant international network that connects Optometry students and organizations across worldwide.
Built on collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and professional growth, OPTOGLOBE serves as a hub where optometry students unite to learn, inspire, and make a global impact.

Connecting Optometry Students Worldwide

OPTOGLOBE, The Global Optometry Student Community was founded on April 7, 2024, by Pemije Gadimoh, a Doctor of Optometry student at the University of Benin, Nigeria. What began with just four members quickly grew into a global movement:

  • April 2024

    OPTOGLOBE surpasses 1,000 members in just 23 days.

  • May 1, 2024

    The Board of Directors is inaugurated to provide leadership and structure.

  • May 2024 Onward

    Specialized teams such as the Editorial Board, Publicity Team, and Digital Team are established to oversee communication, outreach, and innovation.

  • 2024–2025

    OPTOGLOBE expands beyond individual membership to include member organizations, strengthening its role as a collective voice for Optometry students worldwide.
